I’ve lived all my adult life in Vermont, most of it in Brattleboro. I’ve worked here and raised my family here and have friends from all walks of life. I am proud to call Brattleboro my hometown.
I’m typically not a letter writer but am making an exception here to share my thoughts on two things.
First, I want to applaud all those who have taken the time and made the effort to run for Select Board and Town Meeting Representative. It’s rare that we get as many people running as we have this year. Not only does this give us good choices but also allows for a broader discussion of the many issues that we find the town facing. The discourse has been informative and civilized, which helps renew my faith in our political system at a time when it has been sorely tested.
Second, I’d like to encourage voters to join me in supporting Oscar Heller and Franz Reichsman for Select Board. I’ve known them both for some time now and feel that they would be superb choices for their respective positions. I find them to be extremely diligent in taking the time to understand the issues, and they take the time to seek out the opinions of their constituents. I feel that their communication skills, and equally important, their listening skills are exceptional, and we would be well served to have them on our selectboard.
Now time for the voters to do their part in our political process. Please get out and vote!
